A feature waterfall connects the two main lagoon pools, while a shallow wading pool is perfect for toddlers. Dense rainforest meets the ocean and fine sandy beaches fringe the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. The Yuibera Aboriginal people were a part of this country for thousands of years before explorer James Cook named Cape Hillsborough in 1770.
